Pets: Shadow Creeper, a grey dog-like creature with a whiplash-tail and an almost hawk-like head. When fully standing, it reaches the middle of Kadaj's thigh. It will attack on command, but is generally very soft-tempered, calm and subservient, but not one for too much attention or affection.
Appearance:
Kadaj stands at approximately 5'7". He is lithe, but also softly curved with the definition of muscle, not unlike a young gymnast. His skin is fair and clear, his hair silver and cut like a jagged translucent curtain over his right eye (our left). It all feathers a little past the nape of his neck.
His features are soft, with brilliant green eyes of incredible saturation and intensity; his profile seems extremely childlike at times, not a day over fifteen from some angles, but it conceals a shrewdness and calculation that earned him his position in the company. His physical strength means he's also somewhat known or his speed and grace; his movements are fluid as a feline's, and he gives off the distinct impression of being a predator. It may be that he's completely wasted in his office work, but he seems reasonably happy to be there - perhaps because it will put him in with his big brother.
He favours clothes for their practicality more than their appearance; he has his blue suit in Shinra, and he has his leathers for biking, and he has basic button-up shirts and cargoes for home. His wardrobe is what smart-casual looks like when it flirts with bondage.

Kadaj is a driven, passionate, and potentially dangerous person. In his lucid moments he's normally in good spirits, talkative without being overly social or intimate with his coworkers. He laughs frequently, which is a distinct sound, and smiles easily. He's highly temperamental and childish when things go wrong, and there are several lamps and cordless mice that sit in his overloaded waste-basket every week that're testament to the fact. He may be psychologically unstable, occasionally behaving in a psychotic or manic way - although whether this has been recognized by his fellow Shinra employees or not is unknown. He takes seemingly too much pleasure in talking rings around people, and it belies a slightly blacker side of his nature.
In his work, he's dedicated and works incredibly hard. While he's not lacking in intelligence at all, his more cerebral offerings to the company tend to go ignored. His strategies are extreme and he's very passionate in his planning, but not terribly meticulous; he doesn't allow thought of possible setbacks or consequences to enter his mind.
While focused on his personal goals, he's juvenile in the methods he implements to achieve them, and they are often far loftier than anything he is capable of alone.
He also appears to have some regret, perhaps with justification. In a lot of ways, it seems he's wasted his potential and become something more insignificant than he may have been able to be with a little more formal education and effort on his part; he cut corners and it shows. However, there aren't a lot of people who'd do better than grunt-work at his age, so he counts his blessings all the same.
With his family, there's an almost Jekyll-Hyde switch in his behavior. While physically and emotionally aloof with others, his love for his family is expressed via a lot of affection, although he has no trouble verbally articulating it either. He's a demonstrative person who likes to show rather than tell, and it's apparent in all of his relationships, good and bad. With his own family in particular, there's a sort of expression there that he doesn't show others; a physical and emotional vulnerability that makes him all the more childlike.
His mother is his absolute weakness. He adores her, and treats her word like gospel. "Your mama" jokes do not go down well.
History:
Kadaj is the youngest of the Jenova family. Even when he was very young, he was inquisitive, demanding, and had a formidable temper. However, as he grew older and gained a greater comprehension, he developed a degree of self-restraint for his mother, whom he adored a little more than most boys even of his age. He loved her madly, was affectionate always with her, and never argued with her judgment. He clung to her like a burr and followed her everywhere, constantly on her heels and talking about anything that came to his mind. He stirred himself into a wicked temper when he had to start school, because it took him away from her; he only eventually coped from her coaxing and reassurance that she would go nowhere, and would always be there to pick him up at the end of the day.
However, it was only one year after that that she was hospitalised due to a severe illness, and it struck as a terrible blow to him; in all the world, his mother was his rock and the woman upon which he was utterly dependent. Although Yazoo took the reigns in keeping an eye out for him and his other brothers, his self-control did decrease gradually, and he went through a stage of withdrawn rebellion, becoming aggressive and nonverbal. It took him a long time to come to terms, to realise it wasn't making his mother any better, and that it only upset him to be so argumentative with the family he lived with every day. It sobered him up, and he rapidly matured thereafter.
Those few years of childishness had taken a toll on his schooling, however, and he had missed out on a lot of important skills during that time. He worked like a demon in the little time span that remained, and left high-school with decent grades. They didn't reflect his above-average intelligence at all, which he found frustrating - only his reasonable knowledge of facts and figures.
However, it seemed to be enough for Shinra. When he requested an internship - out of desperation for a job that'd pay, and out of a pipe dream of working in something so great and working his way up - he was accepted quite rapidly into the fold. Perhaps from his own insecurity, or perhaps accurately, he has often idly wondered if his brother's involvement in the company had any influence on his own acceptance.

Type: Intermediate - While the idea of hacking is a pleasant dream to him (there's several rather nice in-game items he's currently saving for), he lacks the fundamental skills and wouldn't know where to begin. He is, however, seeking solutions and tutorials online actively, and his position may change in future.
